SARASOTA, Fla. - NCF Women's Soccer gave everything it had against an undefeated Southeastern team that owns a ranked win on its resume, but fell just short Saturday at the NCF Bayfront, losing 1-0.
The lone goal of the game came at the 22:00 mark as Grace Banker scored her second goal of the season for the Fire in what proved to be the game-winner. NCF got off two shots on goal in the loss from
Tereza Cerna and
Sofia Hernandez Cruz, but Southeastern's Jordyn Velasco saved both.
Mighty Banyans goaltender
Avaya Wright logged a young-career high seven saves.
NCF will be back in action Tuesday when it travels to Miami Gardens to take on St. Thomas in a 6 p.m. EST match.
