BRADENTON, Fla. - NCF Volleyball's six-game winning streak was snapped Saturday as it was swept by No. 13 ranked St. Thomas at SCF-Bradenton.
The Mighty Banyans jumped out to a 9-7 lead in the first set, but from there the Bobcats went on a 7-0 run to jump in front 14-9 and went on to win the set 25-20.
NCF lost the second set 25-16 but jumped out in front 11-7 in the third set before the Bobcats rallied to finish the set on an 18-9 run to win 25-20 and complete the sweep.
Wiktoria Telecka led the Mighty Banyans with 11 kills, three-time defending Sun Conference Setter of the Week,
Rafaela Domingos posted a team-high 24 assists, while
Maria Luiza Barreis led the Banyans' defensive efforts with 10 digs.Â
The Mighty Banyans, who fell to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in Sun Conference play with the loss, will be back in action Wednesday at Warner. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
