Despite a 16-day layoff after back-to-back rainouts, NCF Men's Soccer showed no signs of rust Saturday as it earned a 4-0 shutout victory on the road in Miami over Florida Memorial to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Sophomore attacker
Ducamel Jeannestin opened the scoring at the 26:00 mark with his second goal of the season to break a scoreless tie and put the Mighty Banyans on top 1-0.
NCF would take the 1-0 lead into halftime and at the 61:31 mark added onto its lead as freshman forward
Martin Pascual delivered his first collegiate goal to make it 2-0.
Just minutes later, Jeannestin struck again as he scored his second goal of the night at the 67:12 mark to extend the NCF lead to 3-0.
The scoring didn't end there as junior
Fabien Donal scored his first goal of the season at the 83:33 mark to make it 4-0 Banyans.
The win over the Lions counts as a non-conference win for the Banyans. Its rematch with FMU on Oct. 22 in Sarasota will be a Sun Conference contest.
In net, senior goaltender
Mathis Leveque recorded his second consecutive clean sheet as recorded four saves to earn the victory.
NCF will be back in action Tuesday in St. Petersburg, where it will battle Eckerd College at 7 p.m. EST.
