NCF Softball earned a doubleheader split with Florida National on the road Thursday to move to 7-1 on the season.
Game 1
NCF struck first in Thursday's opener as in the top of the third as
Karyna Lewis, who started the inning with a leadoff double, later came around to score on an error bythe  FNU shortstop to make it 1-0.
Later down 2-1, NCF was able to tie the game as in the top of the sixth,
Rylie Harwood worked a walk, stole second and then came around to score on an error by the FNU catcher.
FNU, however, struck back with a run in the bottom of the sixth and then was able to hold down the Mighty Banyans in the top of the seventh to hand NCF its first loss of the 2026 season
Game 2
NCF jumped out to an early lead in Game 2 as in the top of the firstÂ
Sydney Rich slugged her first home run of the season and in the top of the second,
Kelsey Harper delivered an RBI single, putting the Banyans in front 2-0.
In the top of the third, NCF used its speed to add another as Lewis stole second an error by the catcher on the throw allowed
Samantha Suarez to score from third, while in the top of the fourth, Harper ripped another RBI single to make it 4-0.
NCF struck for three more in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single from Rich.
Seven runs of support would be more than enough for NCF starter
Isabella Yazzetti, who was dominant in the circle as she struck out six , only allowed one hit and one walk in a complete-game shutout.
Up Next: NCF will welcome Florida National to Sarasota Tuesday for a 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. doubleheader.
