SARAOSTA, Fla. - NCF Women's Lacrosse fell at home 17-8 to NCAA DII foe Malone University in its fourth game of a five-game homestand.
The Mighty Banyans never led in the contest but did score the first three goals of the second half to cut Malone's lead to 13-6 before the visitors regained control.
Makayla Hardware scored a team-leading four goals in the loss for NCF, while
Ashley Palmer scored twice and
Baylie Dow and
Bella Bradshaw each scored once.
Dow had NCF's lone assist of the game. Dow, Bradshaw and
Sara-Lee Brown each finished with a team-leading seven ground balls while Palmer had a game-high three draw controls.
Abbigail Hardaker recorded nine saves in net in the loss.
With the loss, NCF is now 2-5 on the season and will be back in action Monday, March 23 to host Eastern Oregon in the final game of its three-game homestand.
