Ryan Burgoon Hits Walk-Off In Finale, NCF Baseball Drops Final Home Series To Warner

NCF Baseball fell in its Senior Day series to Warner over the weekend, dropping three out of four games, but did complete an epic Game 4 comeback sealed with a walk-off single to end the weekend on a high note.

The Mighty Banyans are now 21-24 overall and 7-17 in Sun Conference play.
Game 1
New College of Florida dropped the series opener to Warner, 24-5, Friday at Braden River Little League, losing in seven innings via the run-rule.

Warner broke the game open with 11 runs in the second inning and added nine more in the third to build a commanding lead.

New College answered with two runs in the second as Michael Magliocca drove in a run with a single and Brodie Whitlock added an RBI on a fielder's choice. Magliocca added another RBI single in the third.

The Mighty Banyans scored twice more in the seventh as Carson Darr delivered an RBI single and later scored on a passed ball.
Magliocca led New College offensively, going 3-for-3 with two RBI. Darr added an RBI in his lone at-bat, while Ryan Burgoon scored a run and collected a hit.

Mikey Kazmork provided a bright spot on the mound, tossing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts in relief.
Game 2

New College of Florida dropped the second game of the doubleheader to Warner, 14-8 Friday in a seven inning afair.

NCF answered Warner's early two-run first with three runs in the bottom half, highlighted by Brecken Fair's leadoff home run, an RBI double from Matthew Merk and a sacrifice fly by Magliocca to take a 3-2 lead.

Warner responded with six unanswered runs over the next two innings to regain control, then used a five-run fifth inning to extend the lead.

The Banyans continued to battle offensively. Merk homered in the third, added an RBI single in the fifth and drove in another run with a double in the seventh. Fernando Espinal added a sacrifice fly in the fifth as New College scored three times in the frame.

Merk led the Banyans with a 4-for-4 performance, driving in five runs. Fair went 2-for-4 with a home run, while Rylan Jomisko scored twice.

Ty Robertson provided two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts.
Game 3
New College of Florida fell to Warner, 7-5 in Game 3 of the series and the opener of  Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader at IMG.

The Banyans struck first in the second inning when Jomisko was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing home Dylan Bowen for a 1-0 lead.

New College added two more in the fourth. Patrick Fink lifted a sacrifice fly to score Brian Garcia, and Espinal followed with an RBI double to push the lead to 3-0.

Warner answered in the fifth and then took control in the sixth with a three-run inning to move in front 4-3. The Royals added three more in the eighth to extend the lead to 7-3.

New College made one final push in the ninth. Luka Dodig singled in a run and later scored on an error to bring the Banyans within two, but Warner held on from there.

Dalton Hill took the loss after allowing seven runs over 7.2 innings. Mikey Olivia worked the final 1.1 innings in relief.
Game 4

New College of Florida closed the 2026 home season in dramatic fashion in the series finale, rallying past Warner 12-11 in 10 innings at IMG.

Trailing 8-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Banyans erupted for seven runs to take a 9-8 lead. The inning featured RBI efforts from Espinal and Merk, a bases-loaded walk drawn by Fair, a hit-by-pitch RBI from Jomisko and a two-run single from Fink.

Warner answered with two runs in the eighth and added another in the ninth to reclaim an 11-9 lead, but New College refused to fold.

In the bottom of the ninth, Jomisko delivered the biggest swing of the day, launching a two-run home run to tie the game at 11-11 and force extra innings.

In the 10th, Magliocca reached and moved into scoring position before Ryan Burgoon delivered the walk-off RBI single to seal the victory in the final home game of the season.
Coe Powell earned the win in relief, allowing one unearned run over two innings.
Up Next: NCF will finish the 2026 regular season by visiting No. 11 Southeastern next Thursday-Saturday.
