SARASOTA, Fla. - NCF Men's Tennis earned an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama, Tuesday, earning a spot in the dance in its inaugural season.
The field consists of 12 automatic berths and 12 at-large selections. Automatic qualifications are granted to conference tournament champions, while at-large teams were determined by the NAIA Tennis National Selection Committee (NSC). The NSC consists of coaches and administrators from around the country.
NCF will be the No. 15 seed in the tournament and play its first round game May 12 against No. 18-seeded Arizona Christian.
The Mighty Banyans are one of five teams from the Sun Conference to make the tournament, joining Keiser, Southeastern, Coastal Georgia and St. Thomas. The five bids are the most of any conference, nationally.
NCF, led by head coach Erin Bryce, will take a 9-8 record into the tournament as it went 5-2 in Sun Conference play to finish third in the standings, won its Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals match over SCAD Savannah and then fell 4-2 to Southeastern in the Sun Conference Semifinals.
