SARASOTA, Fla. – The New College of Florida men's and women's tennis programs were recognized for their success in the classroom during the 2025-26 season as both teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors, while seven Mighty Banyans were named ITA Scholar-Athletes
To earn ITA All-Academic Team recognition, programs must post a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. All student-athletes included must appear on the institution's eligibility form, with every varsity letter winner counted toward the team's cumulative GPA for the academic year.
In addition to the team honors, four members of the men's team and three members of the women's team received ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Representing the men's program were Timothy Phung, Paul Balon, Matteo Barcia, and Pedro Lemos.
The women's honorees included Emilia Schulte, Vanesa Streitova, and Madeleine Chellas.
ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition is awarded to student-athletes who achieve a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale during the academic year while also appearing on their institution's eligibility form.
