SARASOTA, Fla. – New College of Florida's
Cassidy Casey has been named the Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Player of the Year following a standout 2026 campaign.
Casey was one half of the conference's top pair, going 11-1 overall and 10-0 in Sun Conference play alongside Olivia Fenstermaker. The duo did not drop a single set in conference competition, with their only loss coming against NCAA Division I power Nebraska.
A senior from Houston, Texas, Casey adds the honor to an already decorated career. She was a second-team All-Sun Conference selection in beach volleyball in 2025 and also earned Sun Conference Indoor Volleyball All-Conference honors in 2024.
Casey helped lead New College to a 10-2 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in Sun Conference play, securing the program's first Sun Conference Regular Season Championship. The Mighty Banyans are the No. 1 seed in the Sun Conference Tournament and have earned a bid to the NAIA Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational, the first national postseason appearance in program history.
