SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida volleyball earned a pair of Sun Conference weekly honors Monday as Soraya Nacero was named Sun Conference Attacker of the Week and Addison Phillippe was selected as Sun Conference Setter of the Week.
The honors come following NCF's trip to the Florida College Lady Falcons Classic on Saturday in Temple Terrace, where the Mighty Banyans swept Life University, 3-0, before falling to host Florida College, 3-1.
Nacero earned Attacker of the Week honors for the second time in her career after leading the NCF attack across the two matches. The senior recorded 10 kills on a .333 hitting percentage in the sweep of Life before finishing with 17 kills and a .283 hitting percentage against Florida College.
The Second-Team All-Sun Conference selection from a season ago totaled 27 kills over seven sets at the tournament, averaging 3.86 kills per set while hitting .300. She also added nine digs and four service aces.
Nacero has been one of the conference's top offensive performers through the opening weeks of the season. She ranks third in The Sun Conference with 3.65 kills per set and second with 4.59 points per set. Her .275 hitting percentage ranks fourth in the conference, while her 29 service aces and 0.85 aces per set rank second.
Phillippe earned Setter of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after helping direct the Mighty Banyan offense throughout Saturday's two matches.
The sophomore totaled 65 assists across seven sets, averaging 9.29 assists per set. Phillippe recorded 30 assists and seven digs in NCF's 3-0 sweep of Life before adding 35 assists, seven digs and a block against Florida College.
Monday's recognition continues a strong stretch of honors for Phillippe, who was named both Sun Conference Setter of the Week and NAIA National Setter of the Week following NCF's 4-0 showing at the La Tribu Invitational the previous weekend.
Phillippe enters the week as The Sun Conference leader in both total assists and assists per set, recording 368 assists through 35 sets for an average of 10.51 per set. She holds a lead of more than one assist per set over the conference's second-ranked setter.
Nacero and Phillippe have helped NCF open the 2026 season with an 8-1 record. The Mighty Banyans have won 25 of their first 33 sets, with their lone loss coming against Florida College on Saturday.
NCF will get two more opportunities against the Falcons later this season, traveling back to Temple Terrace on Oct. 5 before hosting Florida College on Nov. 2.
The Mighty Banyans return to action Saturday when they open Sun Conference play against Ave Maria at 7 p.m. at Bradenton Christian School.
