Box Score SARASOTA, Fla. - The New College of Florida men's soccer team came back in dramatic fashion in their win over Trinity Baptist College Tuesday afternoon.
The Trinity Baptist Eagles (3-3) had all the momentum in the first half. The Eagles put endless pressure on the Banyans, leading to a early go-ahead goal 12 minutes into the action. The Eagles scored on a well-placed cross into the box and a perfectly timed header.
The Banyans (4-2) struggled to find their form due to turnovers in the offensive side of the pitch.
The Banyans got on the scoreboard thanks to a timely goal from
Kais Sabic, making the score an even 1-1 going into the break.
Trinity Baptist hit the ground running again, scoring two long shot goals three minutes after play resumed.
The Banyans continued to fight while down 3-1, with Gian-Carlo Kama scoring to bring the Banyans back within one.
Shamour Mclean tied the game on a powerful long distance free kick, igniting the home crowd and driving team momentum.
New College's defense was impressive in the second half, taking away the Eagles' opportunities and keeping possession.
