SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida women's soccer tied United International College 0-0 in the team's final game of the season.

New College (4-8-2) entered Thursday's match looking to extend a two-game win streak. 

The Banyans previous faced United International (4-3) on Sept. 5 and dropped the highly competitive match 1-2. 

The first half saw some very competitive play from both teams. 

Ellie Shurman and Adriana Mateo-Lopez controlled the midfield, creating chances for the Banyans against a stout Eagle Rays defense. 

Rebecca Barnett controlled the pitch on the other end, directing the defense and limiting scoring opportunities for UIC. 

The second half was a continuation of the first. The Banyans defense controlled the possession battle, keeping the Eagle Rays on their heels and desperate for openings. 

The offense showed flashes of potential, but struggled to finish on their side of the field. 

The Banyans ended their season with a 0-0 draw, finishing with a 4-8-2 record.
