New College of Florida Cross Country swept the Sun Conference's Weekly Runner of the Week honors on Monday, as sophomore
Natheer Suied was named Men's Runner of the Week and freshman
Arianna Childs earned Women's Runner of the Week.
The duo become the first two NCF Cross Country athletes to receive weekly conference awards in program history.
Suied led the Mighty Banyans men's team with an 8K time of 28:03, finishing 36th overall out of 82 runners and ranking as the top NAIA finisher at the Ed Holloway Classic in Lakeland last Friday.
Childs placed 45th in the women's 6K field of 71 runners, clocking a 27:12, the fastest time among both NAIA and NCF competitors.
The Ed Holloway Classic served as NCF's final regular-season meet of its inaugural season. The Mighty Banyans will next compete at the Sun Conference Championship on Nov. 8 in Savannah, Georgia.
