SARASOTA, Fla. After a monster Senior Day weekend at the plate, NCF Softball center fielder
Rylie Harwood was named the Sun Conference Offensive Player Of The Week Monday.
Harwood, a Senior from Waterdown, Ontario, led the Mighty Banyans to a series sweep of Florida Memorial by going 5-for-8 at the plate with a home run and six RBI's.
In Friday's series opener, Harwood went 3-for-3 at the dish, ripping a two-run single and two-run home run.
Saturday on Senior Day, she scored a run and worked a walk in Game 1 of the doubleheader and in Game 2 went 2-for-2, including a two-run single in the bottom of the second.
After the big weekend at the plate, Harwood is now hitting a team-best .382 on the season, leads the team with 55 total bases, is tied with
Samantha Suarez and
Mackenzie Mathers with a team-high 24 RBI's, and ranks second on the team with three home runs.
Hawrood and the Mighty Banyans will be back in action when it visits non-conference foe Fort Lauderdale Tuesday.
