SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida volleyball sophomore Addison Phillippe was named the NAIA National Setter of the Week on Tuesday following her outstanding performance at the La Tribu Invitational.

Phillippe directed the Mighty Banyans to four victories over two days as NCF improved to 7-0, the best start in program history. The Alexandria, Indiana, native recorded 176 assists across 16 sets, averaging 11 assists per set during the tournament.

Phillippe opened the weekend with 46 assists in a four-set victory over William Carey before recording a weekend-high 51 assists as NCF defeated Reinhardt in five sets. She added 36 assists in a sweep of Point and 43 in a four-set victory over Johnson.

The sophomore also contributed nine service aces, 23 digs and eight total blocks during the tournament.

Through seven matches this season, Phillippe has recorded 303 assists and ranks second in the NAIA with 10.82 assists per set. She leads The Sun Conference in both total assists and assists per set, holding a margin of more than 1.7 assists per set over the conference's next closest setter.

The national recognition comes one day after Phillippe was named The Sun Conference Setter of the Week for her performance at the La Tribu Invitational.

NCF returns to action Saturday at the Florida College Labor Day Tournament in Temple Terrace.
