Six members of the New College of Florida men's soccer team were recognized among the Sun Conference's best on Tuesday as the Mighty Banyans collected a program-record six All-Conference selections.
Both freshman forward
Cameron Johnson and senior defender
Pablo Herrera earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while senior goaltender
Mathis Leveque, sophomore forward
Ducamel Jeannestin, and senior midfielders
Fabien Donal and Sebastian Pedraza were all named Second-Team All-Conference.
Johnson enters postseason play as the Mighty Banyans' goal leader with 14, which ranks tied for 19th in the NAIA . He also shares the team lead in assists with five. He was twice named Sun Conference Offensive Player of The Week.
Herrera, a team captain, helped NCF outscore opponents by 40 goals in regular season play and scored two goals of his own on the offensive end, cashing in a header against Florida National and scoring the first goal of the Mighty Banyans' 3-1 win over Ave Maria in its regular season finale that helped clinch homefield for the Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.
Leveque started all but one game in net during the regular season, posting a 12-3-1 record. He recorded  70 saves while allowing 17 goals, finishing the regular season saving 80.4% of shots faced.
Jeannestin enters the postseason second behind Johnson on the team in goals with 13, while he has also added two assists. Donal ranks third on the team in goals with eight and second on the team in assists with two, while Pedraza, Herrera's co-captain, ranks tied for the team lead with five assists.
NCF will play its first-ever Sun Conference Tournament game Wednesday at 3 p.m. EST at the NCF Bayfront against Florida Memorial.
