In a sun conference matchup that also served as a senior day celebration for the Banyan senior
C'dara Manuel, New College delivered a performance that was dominant in the first half. The home offense went on a run that was able to build a eight point lead heading into halftime, with the team limiting their mistakes while flashing the potential of the young roster.
Following the break, the Banyans hit a snag in the second half that allowed the Warriors to rally back. The two teams exchanged blows for the remaining 20 minutes of play before the visiting team managed to stretch ahead, amassing a fourth quarter lead that would eventually end the game 64-56.
Sierra Moore was the points leader for New College, collecting 18 points and a team high 8 rebounds. Behind her was
Carson Defries with 13 on the board.
After the loss, the Mighty Banyans fall to 9-16 as they look to get back in the win column against Warner University on February 19th.
