SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida sophomore
Makayla Hardware was named Second-Team All-Sun Conference Wednesday, becoming the first All-Conference player in program history.
Hardware, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, has scored a single-season program record 38 goals for the Mighty Banyans this season while also setting a single-season program record with 53 points, 53 draw controls and 15 assists.
She ranks second on the team with nine caused turnovers and tied for sixth on the team with 29 ground balls.
Hardware has recorded seven hat-tricks, including a pair of five-goal performances and has contributed five or more points in a game six times.
She will lead NCF into its first-ever Sun Conference Tournament Game Thursday when the No. 6 seeded Mighty Banyans take on No. 3 seeded Ave Maria in the Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at 3 p.m. EST at Keiser University in West Palm Beach.
