Box Score SARASOTA, Fla. – Banyans run away with victory in first game against Lighthouse Christian.

Owen McKinley got off to a good start on the mound in game two. After putting two runners on, McKinley made a nice play in the field, cutting off a batted ball to help turn an inning ending double play.

The Banyans loaded the bases in the bottom of the second inning. Walks by Gabe Rangel and Landon Morrison set up Alexander Bairan, who singled to advance all runners. A Hunter Nunez walk scored the first run of the game before Rylan Jomisko drove a ball to center field, scoring two to give the Banyans an early 3-0.

Brennan Peterson walked to continue the inning, loading the bases for shortstop Jesus Fortis. Fortis smoked a ball to deep center field, scoring two more runs to make it a 5-0 lead for the Banyans in the second.
Alexander Bairan got his second hit of the day in the third, reaching second on a double to center field.

Owen McKinley was excellent again in the top of the fourth. After two walks, McKinley ended the inning on an electric strikeout, maintaining the Banyans 5 run lead.

New College added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, extending their lead to 7.

The New College offense got rolling in the eighth. The Banyans scored 5 runs in the inning, finishing the game with a bases clearing double to capture a 12-1 victory.

The Banyans are back in action on Sat. April 20 for a doubleheader against Lighthouse Christian.
