NCF Men's Basketball (2-1, 0-0) will open Sun Conference play Wednesday by defending Sun Conference Tournament champion and No. 8 ranked Ave Maria (7-0, 1-0) to SCF-Bradenton for a 7 p.m. EST showdown.
The contest will be the second in a Women's/Men's doubleheader as the NCF Women will tip off at 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed outfits.

- Last week, NCF earned a 91-84 Friday home win over Baptist University of Florida to improve to 2-1 and then fell on the road at NCAA DI North Florida 122-67 in an exhibition.
- The win over Baptist saw Diego Eslava break a school single-game record by splashing eight three-pointers as he scored 36 points to lead the Mighty Banyans to victory. Giovanni Toscanini added 22 points in the win, while point guard Shawn Lefresne dished a school single-game record 12 assists and scored 12 points to record his second double-double of the season, falling one rebound short of a triple-double as he pulled down nine boards.
- At North Florida, Eslava led NCF with 16 points followed by Lefresne with 12. Ben Walker pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
- Through three regular season contests, Eslava is averaging a team-high 17.7 points per game, while Lefresne leads the team with 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game.
- Ave Maria, the defending Sun Conference Tournament Champions, is a perfect 7-0 on the season thus far, as it has earned wins over Columbia International, Morris, Thomas, Reinhardt, RV Johnson (TN), Florida College and Webber. Guard Jonathan Effertz leads the Gyrenes team in scoring at 7.5 points per game, while Alex Sherwood is averaging a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.
